The Brighton and Hove neighbourhood edit Hove and Portland Road
Pilates in Hove and Portland Road.
Hove is the region's deepest reformer neighbourhood, spanning boutique group rooms, classical apparatus and physiotherapy-led practice.
The neighbourhood note
A local dispatch for making the class part of the day, rather than the whole of it.
Before and after class
Thirteen studios, best understood as different methods rather than more of the same.
Reformer Collective has two physical Hove rooms; Brighton Pilates keeps groups to four; Kin keeps them to six and adds specialist pregnancy and postnatal teaching. Barefoot caps groups at five and adds Cardio Tramp, while Fit Box and Hove Fitness Club make reformer part of a broader training week.
Ocean Wave and Nicola Bryson deepen the private apparatus edit, joining Elda, Purely Pilates, Body Rehab and Hove Pilates in the slower technical counterpoint of tailored programmes, courses, assessments and comprehensive equipment sessions. Church Road and Portland Road cover the coffee; Hove Lawns provide the inevitable exhale.
The local ritual
3 stops, one considered Hove and Portland Road morning.
A short edit for adding coffee, fresh air or a little local character to the class booking.
