The city edit Issue 01
The Elgin Pilates Edit
Elgin now has two distinct ways into group reformer: an independent studio above the High Street and a large, accessible programme at Borough Briggs, with cathedral ruins, cashmere craft and good coffee giving the class a richer Moray setting.
The long read
Pilates in Elgin, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
High Vibe Studio brings the boutique version to 172A High Street. Its dedicated room runs reformer at different levels and times, with drop-ins, class packs, rolling memberships and an introductory pack all managed through Bsport.
Moray Leisure Centre is the broader-access alternative. Its twelve-reformer room launched on 13 July 2026 with beginner, intermediate and advanced teaching, a £10 pay-as-you-go price and memberships that include twelve sessions a month.
The two rooms suit different rhythms. High Vibe makes sense for a city-centre class threaded into errands and coffee; Borough Briggs offers a bigger weekly timetable, reception support and the wider facilities of a community leisure centre.
Elgin Cathedral supplies the most atmospheric walk between appointments, while Johnstons of Elgin turns textile craft into a proper destination with mill experiences, a shop and Weavers Coffee Shop. In a compact city, Pilates can lead naturally into both.
