The city edit Issue 01
The Kirriemuir Pilates Edit
Kirriemuir's reformer scene is intimate rather than high-volume: Emma Logan teaches no more than two people at once in a purpose-built studio, while the town's Peter Pan history, community shops and hilltop views reward a slower visit.
The long read
Pilates in Kirriemuir, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
Emma Logan Pilates works from The Studio at Logie Business Park. Emma is an APPI-certified mat and reformer instructor with a physiotherapy background, and her 50-minute reformer sessions use layered progressions for beginners through experienced clients.
The regular format is a shared 1:2 block at £20 per class, securing the same weekly place. Ad hoc reformer sessions may be available at £25, while a fully tailored one-to-one costs £45; every booking begins with direct contact rather than an anonymous checkout.
Logie Business Park sits beyond Southmuir with its own large car park. Back in the centre, A Longer Table's refill shop gathers local bread, cakes, produce and coffee, making it a useful independent stop rather than a generic detour.
Kirriemuir's cultural trail belongs to J M Barrie. Visit his whitewashed birthplace on Brechin Road, then climb Kirrie Hill to the Camera Obscura and Café Obscura for broad views towards the Angus Glens. Seasonal opening hours make advance checking worthwhile.
